"L'Illustration, No. 3262, 2 Septembre 1905" by Various is an issue of a French illustrated weekly magazine published in 1905. Founded in 1843 and inspired by The Illustrated London News, L'Illustration pioneered documentary photojournalism by sending correspondents worldwide to capture events firsthand. This September 1905 issue represents the magazine during its golden era under the Baschet family's direction, when it maintained its reputation for authentic imagery—famously being the only publication to show
genuine photographs of the battleship Potemkine that summer while competitors used approximations. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
