"Mielevä hidalgo Don Quijote Manchalainen I" by Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra is a Spanish novel published in 1605. A minor nobleman loses his sanity after reading too many chivalric romances and decides to become a knight-errant. Renaming himself Don Quixote, he recruits a simple farmer as his squire and sets out to revive chivalry. He mistakes windmills for giants, inns for castles, and ordinary people for characters from his beloved tales, creating
chaos wherever he ventures in his delusion-filled quest for glory. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
