"Märchen-Almanach auf das Jahr 1827" by Wilhelm Hauff is a fairy tale collection published in 1826. This second almanac in Hauff's trilogy features eight stories united by a frame narrative about a sheik who frees slaves in exchange for tales. The collection includes Hauff's famous "Der Zwerg Nase" alongside contributions from other authors, ranging from traditional fairy tales to sharp social satire. The stories explore themes of transformation, deception, and society's follies
through enchanted dwarfs, disguised princes, and even a civilized orangutan fooling high society. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
