"Verdadera historia de los sucesos de la conquista de la Nueva-España (2 de 3)" by Bernal Díaz del Castillo is a chronicle written in the 16th century, with the manuscript completed around 1568. This firsthand account details the Spanish conquest of Mexico from the perspective of a soldier who participated in the campaigns. Written decades after the events, Díaz del Castillo presents his raw, vivid recollections of battles, encounters with indigenous peoples,
and the establishment of Spanish control—motivated partly by his desire for recognition and rewards he felt he deserved. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
