"Miscellaneous Mathematical Constants" by Simon Plouffe is a collection and reference work focusing on various mathematical constants, likely compiled in the late 20th century. The book serves as an extensive catalog of these constants, providing them in high precision formats suitable for mathematicians and enthusiasts interested in numerical constants and their properties. The opening of the book lists a multitude of mathematical constants, ranging from fundamental numbers like pi and e to
lesser-known ones such as the Artin's Constant and the Backhouse Constant. Each entry includes the constant's value to numerous decimal places, with specific calculations or references noted for those interested in their derivations. This initial portion sets a precise and technical tone, indicating that the book is aimed at readers with a strong mathematical background or a deep curiosity about the world of mathematical constants.
