"Pohjalaisia: Kansannäytelmä kolmessa näytöksessä" by Artturi Järviluoma is a folk play first performed in 1914. Set in 1850s Southern Ostrobothnia during the height of the "puukko-junkkari" knife-fighter era, this three-act drama depicts rural Finnish life and the struggle between common people and oppressive bureaucratic authorities. When young farmer Antti is imprisoned for defending his fiancée's honor, tensions escalate between villagers and a tyrannical bailiff, leading to violent confrontation. The play explores themes
of honor, justice, religious conflict, and resistance to corrupt power. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
