"En piga bland pigor" by Ester Blenda Nordström is a reportage book published in 1914. Nordström went undercover as a maid on a Swedish farm to expose the harsh realities of domestic servants' lives. Working sixteen-hour days with minimal rest, she documented the grueling conditions, shared cramped quarters, and stark inequalities between servants and employers. Her immersive investigation revealed a world of exhaustion and hardship, while also capturing unexpected moments of camaraderie
and purpose among the workers in early twentieth-century rural Sweden. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
