The book centers on the Finnish Civil War, exploring the ideological struggles between the working class (the Reds) and the ruling class (the Whites), highlighting the lead-up to the conflict and the motivations behind it. Through a blend of narrative and analysis, it aims to document the impact of class struggles and the
consequences of the war on the Finnish populace. At the start of the work, Kaatra reflects on the role of the working class and the urgency of their struggle for rights, situating the narrative against the backdrop of the Russian Revolution.
