"Välskärin kertomuksia 3" by Zacharias Topelius is a historical novel published between 1853-1867. Through the frame narrative of field surgeon Andreas Bäck, the work follows the intertwined fates of the Bertelsköld and Larsson families across generations of Swedish and Finnish history. A mysterious copper ring, once owned by King Gustav II Adolf, passes through family hands, bringing fortune and misfortune.
