"The Assemble of Goddes" by Anonymous is a dream vision poem written in the fifteenth century. A solitary dreamer falls asleep while pondering how to reconcile Reason and Sensuality. He witnesses celestial disputes, a divine banquet disrupted by Discord, and an epic battle between the armies of Virtue and Vice for control of Microcosm. Gods, personified vices and virtues, and allegorical figures collide in this medieval allegory that guides readers toward moral
instruction through elaborate symbolic warfare and spiritual revelation. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
