Gutenberg:Wiki

From Project Gutenberg, the first producer of free electronic books (ebooks).

The Gutenberg website is now a Wiki so you can volunteer to edit most of the content. This has already led to the portuguese version of the Project Gutenberg website. Other language versions of the website are welcome (see Wikipedia: List of languages by number of native speakers).

The easiest way for you to contribute to the Project Gutenberg website is to add to or maintain a Bookshelf page. The Bookshelf is intended as a structured access to the ebooks. Each page of the Bookshelf should give access a subset of the Gutenberg ebooks. The categorization is up to you. The result is that prospective readers can find ebooks they did not know about yet and therefore could not find with the search function.

Gutenberg Space

The Gutenberg: namespace (ie. all articles that start with "Gutenberg:") is editable by the Project Gutenberg Wiki Team only. This is the official Project Gutenberg web site.

Some pages with high visibility (like the main page) are locked, so only users with sysops privilege can edit them.

Public Space

The rest of the wiki is open to you. Create an account and write some useful content for the ebook community!

Appropriate Content

Opinionated Content

Please put opinionated content, or any content you don't want mercilessly edited by everybody else, on your user page or on a sub-page of your user page. Don't edit somebody else's user page without their permission.

Inappropriate Content

Inappropriate content will be deleted on sight at the discretion of our sysops.
