The Sheet Music Project

Project Gutenberg volunteers have been engaging in digitizing public domain sheet music, using a variety of techniques, to enable study and performance. For the most part, the musical pieces created have been chamber music, with composers such as Brahms and Beethoven.

• The Sheet Music Project In Progress List, including scanned scores ready for transcription.
• The Music HOWTO, describing how to get started.
• Musical scores are periodically available for shared proofing at Distributed Proofreaders, and more involvement from music experts in item selection, digitization and post-processing is always welcome.
