Early English Text Society (Bookshelf)

The Early English Text Society is a society founded in 1864 to publish early English manuscripts; Old English, Middle English, and a few early Modern English. They continue to publish new volumes in the series; see their website at [1]. There are two series in the time period available to Project Gutenberg: the original series, which was the first publication of the manuscripts, which included roughly 160 volumes by 1923, and the extra series, which was works others had already published, which had roughly 120 volumes by 1920.
