Que exestião em poder de Pacheco Comtemporaneo de Bandarra e que se lhe achàrão depois de sua morte.

Introduçaõ.

Com grande satisfação recebérão, todos os Portuguezes, assas Cinceros, e prudentes, as trovas de Gonçallo Annes Bandarra, impressas em Barcellona em 1809 sobre a edìção de Nantes de 1644. Juntandose, a esta edição outras, trovas que nunca se tinhão impreço pella defficuldade que havia de se naõ acharem.

Ficando porem ainda o ardente dezejo em muitas pessoas de verem impresso o resto (de que havia notìcia de sua existencia) de todas as trovas de Bandarra; porquè como este hia profetizando, em diverços tempos durante a sua vida; igualmente por este motivo, apareciao em diverços tempos, e lugares, e em poder de algumas pessoas, como se vio (por exemplo) na edição de Nantes de 1644 naõ se ímpremírão senão, aquellas trovas, por que não aparecerão as que se impremirão, em Barcelona em 1809 (que fazem a 2ª e 3ª parte desta obra) as quaes são, as que se achárão em poder do Cardeal Nuno da Cunha, e as que tinha o Comissário do Santo officio Domingos Furtado de Mendonça: e agora depois que se fez a edição acima ditta de 1809, se acharão na livraria do Ex^mo Sñr........ (omito o seo nome por motivos particulares) em manuscrito muito antigo! todas as profecias de Bandarra, não só as que se achão jà impressas, nas duas ediçoens que jà dicemos, mas tãobem as trovas de que havia noticia, que tinhão ficàdo em poder de Pacheco, amigo, e comtemporaneo de Bandarra, que mereceo a este tanto conceito, que foi digno de responder aquelle às perguntas que lhe fazia, cujas respostas que Bandarra fez a Pacheco são as que se achão na edição de Barcelona de 1809 desde paginas 60, até, 66, e como esta obra estava imcompleta, e pella sua natureza merece muita reflexão a todas as pessoas discretas e assas prudentes; a rogos destes pois hé que me determinei a mandar impremir, as trovas que o dito Pacheco tinha em seo poder, ficando desta sorte completa a edição desta obra toda, de que hà noticia que Bandarra profetizou, assim como tãobem, completos os ardentes dezejos de todos os Portuguezes Fieis, Cinceros, e Honrados, como eu que me prézo de ser hum.--

1. Os tempos com crueldade Começar-se hão a mover, Se me não engana a verdade Ali perderão seo ser No meio de certa idade. 2. Virà gozando de paz Aquelle pastor valente, Hum lobo que guerra faz Moverà toda a gente Com huma limgua sagaz. 3. Logo nas mãos o pastor Seu cajado tomarà, Sem mostrar nenhum temor Contra os lobos que achará Revestidos de rigor. 4. Nelles farà tal destroço Que serà couza de espanto, Como bravo Touro em cosso Logo perde tudo quanto Tinha como pastor moço. 5. Jà vejo que se desterra Este pastor sem ventura, Da patria rebanho, e terra A huma larga Sepultura De huma frondoza serra. 6. O manço gàdo que em páz Pella ribeira regia, Jà desgovernàdo traz Triste sò sem companhia, Que hum mào concelho faz. 7. E logo outro pastor Do pouco gado que achár, Serà absoluto Senhor, E serà em quanto durar A fortuna, e seo rigor. 8. Serà pastor estrangeiro O que reja o manço gado Que taõ bravo foi primeiro Mas ai que falta o malhado Que era o principal Carneiro. 9. De pois que por tempo largo Este pastor governar A este rebanho amargo, Outra vez hà de tornar A ter o que tinha o cargo. 10. Haverà novos sinaes Da parte deste pastor, Thé os mesmos anímaes Por seu natural Senhor Darão suspiros, e ais. 11. Tornarà a quebràda linha No Cábo de serta idade, A encher-se como pinha, E descubrirà a verdade Do que encuberto tinha. 12. Sem pena que damno faça Tornarà pella ribeira Pastar o gado na praça, Por ultima, e derradeira Dos fados Supréma traça. 13. 1. Quando de noite me ponho A dormir sem me benzer, Tudo o que háde açuceder Se me representa em Sonho. 2. Sempre mandei escrever Aquillo que me lembrou, Porque a memoria a postou De tudo se esquecer. 3. Nas Trovas que tinha feito Muito hà que conciderar, Como o seo tempo chegar Se vera o meo conceito. 4. Sempre por thezoiras faço As minhas contas mui certas, Portas que hão de estar abertas Não são boas para o paço. 5. Eu naõ sou Profeta inteiro E menos na minha terra, Mas vejo vir pella Serra Atraz de hum Lobo hum Cordeiro. 6. O Sol pello meio dia Faz o effeito de Geada, Vejo partir huma armada Carregáda de agua fria. 7. Huma grande tempestade Com o céo muiclaro, e Serenno, Farà hum hommem moreno Com rezão mas sem piedade. 8. Sexta parte das Trovas de Bandarra.

1. Sonhei que via hum fumo, Com grande força sahir, E deixando de Subir, Hum altar vi no escuro: Formava taõ forte muro. Que estava o Altar cuberto; Vi a hostia naõ mui perto, Do tal Altar arredada: Huma cára sublimáda, Em ella vi por mais certo. 2. Pareceme que crescia, Quem assim o figurava: Taõbem sonhei me pegava, Quem mulher me parecia: E que com voz me dezia, Anda ver a terra nova, Pella maõ levou-me à cova, Levava bello vestido, Aí nuvems eu fui subido, Onde vi a gente toda. 3. Negra, e amolatáda, Logo à terra baldeando, A respiraçaõ faltando Eu daqui já naõ quis nada, Para a terra de pancada Me trouxe a tal mulher, Athé alcancei dizer Vou segunda vez à terra, Logo vinha resta era E tornava a aparecer. 4. Parecia a meo ver Nova Igreja figurada, Por hereges desterráda, Na quella terra a tremer, Quem Herege quizer ser Ficarà negro, ou molato, E terà todo o máo trato Por fugir da boa Ley, No Inferno sua grey Para tràz darà o Salto. 5. Taõbem sonhei que a nuvem Cobria a gram redondeza, Mui medonha, e espeça Taõbem raios que destroem, A quem a falça Ley tem, E depois vi aclarar Com hum claraõ singular, Em dia de huma Senhora Em fe seguinte boa hora Seu nascimento sempár. 6. Em sonhos vi grande armáda E a Lua, em rosso Tejo, Ficandolhe o Sol por baixo De huma Torre armáda, Moiros tiveraõ entráda Pella terra de christaõs, Na Igreja vi estes máos Hum exercito Francez, Taõbem entrou desta vez Accompanhádo dos Máos. 7. Pella terra veio entrando Athé se perder de vista, Com grande préça, e cobiça Toda a vinhaõ derrotando, Taõbem os Moiros chegando Com grande astucia, e préça, Vinhaõ buscando a Cabeça A numa Cidade Real Pouco cuida Portugal, Em o mal que lhe aconteça. 8. Parece que estou ouvindo Nesse mar a gran tormenta Antes que chegue os Setenta, Caxas, Ballas, barberinhos Entaõ hé que virà vindo O Grande pastor Geral, Acudir a taõ graõ mal, Dando às Ovelhas sustento E taõbem o Sacramento Viva o nosso Portugal. 9. Poucos tempos paçaraõ Segundo as Profecias, Em os Sinaes destes dias Outros que cedo viraõ Huma Gran tribulaçaõ, Mas ao depois verà A volta que tudo dà, Chegando logo a vencer No mundo todo o poder Na Igreja ficarà. 10. Em todas reste tuida Com maior veneraçaõ, Só nella tem o Christaõ, Gloria na eterna vida Mas ai que a vejo cahida Que primeiro vem chegando Os boms largando o mundo, Outros morrendo à preça Outros perdem a Cabeça, Muitos disso vão folgando. 11. Por humgrande oppozitor Depois da linha acabada, Este farà derrotada, A Igreja com horror, Á besta mete pavor Em trez, e meio de dura Tanta gente à Sepultura, O Martir gloríozo Por fugir do tenebrozo, A seguir a Virgem pura. 23.
